Shire Properties is a lettings agent covering Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas.

Being landlords ourselves, we know how important it is when choosing your lettings agency. Each landlord is individual, with individual needs. For landlords we take as much care and pride in your property as we would our own, which means we are able to offer our tenants a home.

Attention to detail is something we pride ourselves on.  We will update you throughout the process whether you are a landlord or a tenant. We’re also great listeners, we’ll return your calls, update as much or as little as you want and keep our promises.

The first step is to contact us to provide brief details about yourself and about the accommodation you require. We will then search our database for suitable properties for you to view.


Viewings will be arranged at times to suit you, including evenings and weekends.


Once you have found a property you like, you will need to fill out an application form and pay a ‘holding deposit’.


All of our tenants are fully referenced and credit checked.  We may also require a personal reference, and sometimes a guarantor.


Rents are normally quoted calendar monthly and payable monthly in advance. The tenant is usually also responsible for Council Tax, Water Rates, Gas, Electricity and Telephone costs. All rents are payable by bank standing order to our company bank account or your landlord’s bank account.


A security deposit of a minimum of one month’s rental will be required. This deposit will be treated in accordance with the Tenancy Deposit Protection regulations, and you will be informed of when it has been protected. The deposit is held to cover damage, breakages, and any other liabilities under the terms of your tenancy agreement. Please note that under no circumstances can the deposit be used by the tenant to cover rent.

Shire Properties offer a choice of services to suit any landlord;

Fully Managed

A comprehensive and hassle-free service. We look after every aspect of the tenancy for you, from rent collection to maintenance and repairs with of our suppliers.  Our aim is to make your life as easy as possible.

We can provide this service for a monthly fee of just 8% of the monthly rent, subject to a £35 minimum (plus VAT)

Part Managed – Rent Collection

Landlords who want the benefits of the ‘Tenant Find’ service along with the peace of mind from knowing the rent is collected every month and monthly accounts are provided.

We can provide this service for a monthly fee of just 6% of the monthly rent, subject to a £25 minimum (plus VAT)

Tenant Find

If you need to find the ideal tenant, have them properly referenced and have the legal formalities handled for you, but you prefer to look after the day to day running of the property, this is the service for you.

We can provide this service for a one off fee of just 50% of the monthly rent, subject to a £350 minimum (plus VAT)
